Ski Jumping

What is Ski Jumping?

Ski jumping is a winter sport in which competitors aim to achieve the longest jump after descending from a specially designed ramp on their skis.  Ski Jumpers demonstrate excellent balance and commitment as they gain speed on the inrun, launch into the air, and then transition safely to landing.  In a traditional competition, distance and style determine an athlete's score.  Our athletes are taught the fundamental skills through a variety of fun methods in order to progress safely in the sport.

What is Nordic Combined?

Nordic combined is a winter sport in which athletes participate in both cross-country skiing and ski jumping. A traditional Nordic combined competition features a ski jumping event that determines the start order of the cross country race, and a pursuit-style nordic race. We highly encourage all young ski jumpers to develop their ski skills as Nordic combined skiers. Many of our fundamentals ski jumpers also train with PCSS Kickers & Gliders, Devo and Comp Team XC Programs.

Our Purpose

Every kid dreams about flying through the air.  The PCSS Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined programs make those dreams come true.  Our certified coaches teach skiers how to execute jumps safely while enjoying the thrill and exhilaration of the flight.  We aim to foster love of the sport and provide an environment that offers each athlete the opportunity to pursue excellence in sport and develop character for life.
