What is Freeski Park and Pipe?

Freeskiing started as a movement away from traditional ‘Freestyle’ and ‘Alpine’ skiing such as Moguls, Aerials, and all types of Alpine Racing. Today the realm of ‘Freeski’ disciplines include Park & Pipe (Slopestyle, Halfpipe, Big Air, Rail Jam), Big Mountain and Ski Cross

Why Park & Pipe?

Our program offers training for skiers 10+ years old, including a wide variety of programs to suit all schedules. Our skill development focus will leave your athlete prepared to safely have fun in Park City’s world-class parks as well as skiing all over the mountain. We offer training at world-class venues like Park City Mountain, Utah Olympic Park, and Woodward Park City to prepare athletes for local competitions all the way up to world cup events in Slopestyle, Big Air, and Halfpipe. Whether you are looking for a part-time recreational program or have aspirations of making the US National Team, PCSS Park & Pipe is here to help your athletes achieve their goals!

Our Purpose

Our PNP Team strives to produce top athletes while developing great human beings through education, courage, discipline, accountability, integrity, and teamwork. Our goal is to create a lifelong love for skiing and success at all levels. For us, success is measured by achievements both on and off the hill.

Passion and commitment are at the forefront of our Park & Pipe program, allowing for a positive, enjoyable learning experience through participation with our team. Whether the athlete's eyes are set on making the U.S. Ski Team or simply wanting to become a better park skier, our high-level coaching provides you with the opportunities to achieve success.

PCSS has produced athletes at the highest levels, including X Games competitors, World Champions, and Olympic athletes. Alex Hall, Colby Stevenson, Maggie Voisin, Marin Hamill, Brendan Newby, the Atkin sisters, and many more.

FREESKI PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Hometown: Highland, Michigan ... but I have lived in Park City for as long as I lived in Michigan, so both count as my hometowns now. Years Coaching: 35 years. I earned my Level 100 Freestyle Coaching license in 1984 while coaching in Telluride. First Tracks: In the back yard down to a lake when I was eight. It isn't surprising that a jump was involved. My first 'real' lesson was at 10-years-old at Alpine Valley, Michigan and right after the lesson there definitely was a jump involved. Athletic/Coaching Highlights: 1988 Olympian in Aerials, 1989 7th at World Ski Championships and the FIS World Cup Tour (5 top 10 finishes that year), Star of Greg Stump Ski Films in the 80's; Coached men's and women's aerials gold medalists in 1995 World Ski Championships Athletes , Men's and Women's Combined as well as Bronze in Men's Combined. Athletes achieved numerous Junior National and National titles in Freeskiing Slopestyle and Halfpipe. Certifications: Level 500 Aerials, Level 300 Park and Pipe, Level 300 Moguls
